Pricing
How we price the work.
Every job is quoted individually — fixed-price or hourly, whichever fits the work. Estimates are free: same-day for most smaller projects, within two business days for larger residential jobs. You get a written estimate before any work starts, and the final invoice matches it. A 3% processing fee applies to credit and debit cards; cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal are also accepted.

Yes — every estimate is free and written: same-day for most smaller projects, within two business days for larger residential jobs. For most projects a photo and a short description by phone, text, or the form is enough; larger scopes get a free on-site walkthrough.
Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or card. Credit and debit card payments carry a 3% processing fee — every other method has no fee. Payment terms are spelled out on your written estimate.
Scope
What we do — and don't do.
Plumbing and electrical fixes, drywall and paint, trim and molding, doors and locks, carpentry and framing, window replacement and repair, flooring, decks and railings, siding, pressure washing, shed builds and repair, custom furniture and IKEA assembly, junk removal, and general home repair. If you have a punch list, we can handle most of it in one visit.
Yes. Our most-booked service is the Honey-Do List — a single visit that knocks out multiple small projects at once. Batching several small tasks into one trip usually saves you money and gets your whole list done in an afternoon.
Yes, within scope. We handle fixture-level electrical (ceiling fans, light fixtures, outlets, switches) and fixture-level plumbing (faucets, toilets, garbage disposals). For anything beyond fixtures — new circuits, panel work, rerouting supply or drain lines — we refer you to a licensed electrician or plumber.
We don't take on full-scale remodels, new-construction builds, or mold remediation. Bigger specialty scopes — a full roof tear-off, a new HVAC system — get an honest conversation first: some Benny handles, some he'll point you to the right specialty contractor for. Ask, and you'll get a straight answer.
Schedule & service area
Where we work and how fast we get there.
Estimates come fast — same-day for most smaller projects. Scheduling depends on the current workload and your job's scope, and Benny will tell you honestly when he can be there. Urgent repairs can often be worked in sooner.
Our standard coverage is roughly 20–25 minutes around the shop: Kalamazoo, Portage, Comstock Township, Comstock Northwest, Oshtemo Township, Richland, Galesburg, and Plainwell. Anything the location adds to a job shows up on the written estimate before you approve it — nothing is tacked on later.
Ask. We sometimes go just past the listed cities for repeat clients or when we already have a job nearby. If it's a stretch, we'll be honest and either schedule it on a day we're already in your area or refer you to a handyman who's based closer to you.
Insurance & guarantee
What we stand behind.
Yes. Western Michigan Handyman carries general liability insurance on every job. A current certificate of insurance is available on request before we start any work.
Benny walks a checklist with you before the job starts and again when it's finished, so the scope is agreed on both ends. If a mistake shows up after the work is completed, he comes back and fixes it. Details on the guarantee page.
